He is survived by: his son Andrew Maarel; his sisters, Melissa "Lissa" Jones of Tarboro, Tina Andrews (Kevin) of Smithfield and Cheryl Williams of Chocowinity; his nieces and nephews, Anthony Martinez, Lilia Belman, Bryson Rivera, Justin Laughter (Jessica) and Jessica Ramey; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Mar'Quarius, Malani, Kolten and Karsen; and his close friends, Beverly Evans, April Barfield Medford and David Hatchel, III.
