She is survived by: her brother-in-law Doodle; her children, Kay Ellis Gelo and Jack Jr.; her wife Brenda of Rocky Mount; her grandchildren, Brent Jeffrey Kendall (Siah) of Silver Springs, MD, Emily Kendall Torres (Luis) of Wake Forest and Timothy Alan Ellis (Reagan) of Raleigh; her great grandchildren, Ada Robbins Kendall, Mallory Kendall Torres, Evan Robert Kendall and Clara Bryn Ellis; her sister-in-law Jane Carraway Phillips of Smithfield, VA.; and also, Everette and Ellis, Jr..
