It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Clarence Melvin Smith (Pinetops, North Carolina), who passed away on September 13, 2018, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Smith and Lena Smith; his brother William Marvin Smith, Jr.; and his son William Melvin Smith. He is survived by: his spouses, Ruth Eloise Smith and Elizabeth Connie Smith; his daughters, Jo Ann Balazsi (Joseph) of Pinetops and Betty Watson (Charles) of Rocky Mount; his siblings, Hilda Gray Walston, Juanita Everette, George Smith (Betty), Richard Smith, Alice Harris and Henry Lewis Smith (Pat); his grandchildren, Joe Balazsi (Teresa), Brian Balazsi (Julie), Imre Balazsi (Jeanette) and Jennifer Coley (Travis); and his great grandchildren, Eden, Mary Elizabeth, Stephen, Jaylan, Janiah, Briscoe, Blake, Aaron and Noah C..
