He was predeceased by: his wife Sallie Anderson Drake; his parents, Almond J. Drake, Sr. and Annie Best Drake; and his siblings, Dora Lee Drake Moore, Mary Drake Stallings, Eva Drake Bunn, Virginia Drake Dennis and Edwin Brooks Drake.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Zora Drake Richman (James) of Pinetops, Almond Jerkins Drake, III (Lori) of Farmville, Paul Allen Drake (Melissa) of Pinetops, Katherine Drake Stowe (Sadler) of Holly Springs, Matthew Drake (Kaitlin) of Pinetops, Morgan Drake of Norfolk, VA, Jacquelyn Drake of Greenville, Andrea Drake of Farmville, Amanda Drake, Joanna Drake of New York City and Lori Abigail Drake of Chapel Hill; and his sisters, Maude Drake Turner and Alice Drake Williams. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Pinetops Baptist Church.
