He was predeceased by: his parents, Wrent Gerome Thorpe and Ella Mae Thorpe of Rockingham, N. C.; his wife Elda Thorpe; his siblings, Patricia Butler (Helen Smith) and Bryan Thorpe; and his great grandchild Tanner Dixon.
He is survived by: his children, Bryce Thorpe (Merralee) and Annette Hyder (Donnie); his grandchildren, Carrie Mabe, Teri Thorpe, Cassidy Patterson, Rebekah Lindhardt, Will Thorpe, Emily Stanley and Katie Hyder; and his great grandchildren, Joshua Mabe, Gracie Mabe, Amber Webster, Elissa Dixon, Hunter Dixon, Savannah Chance, Kennedy Stanley and Yrsa Lindhardt.
