It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ronald DeWitt Essick of Pinehurst, North Carolina, born in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 19, 2022, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, DeWitt Miller Essick and Clara Shaw Essick; his wife Kaye Shaffer Essick; and his siblings, William Darlington Essick and Nancy Essick Head.

He is survived by: his children, Shannon Essick Salvador (Francisco) of Charlotte and Christopher Shaw Essick (Ashley) of Tomkins Cove; and his grandchildren, Lilliana, Tyler, Ruby Salvador, Sadie, Claire and Audrey Essick.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic cancer research or FirstHealth Hospice and Palliative Care of Moore County.
