He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Newman and Elizabeth Newman. He is survived by: his wife Kay Newman; his brother Gerald Newman (Virginia); his daughters, Kelly Mitchell (Tim), Kim Rader (Daryl) and Kathy Smith (Wesley); and his grandchildren, Preston Mitchell, Adam Mitchell, Hannah Herndon (Ryland), Helen Rader, Walker Smith and Weston Smith.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to FirstHealth Hospice Foundation 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374 in his name.
