It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert John Wharton of Pinehurst, North Carolina, born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, who passed away on March 4, 2023, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Wharton and Martha Wharton; his daughter Jean Wharton; his brother James Wharton; and his sister-in-law Elisabeth Wharton.
He is survived by: his former wife Kathleen "Kathy" McCarthy; his wife Kathleen Wharton of Pinehurst; his children, Kristen Dibble (Ed) of Charlotte and Thomas Wharton (Mindy) of Cary; his granddaughter Veronica Wharton; and his sister-in-law Maureen Vincent of New Jersey. He is also survived by other loving family members and friends.
