We are sad to announce that on March 25, 2025, at the age of 83, Richard Edward Byrd Jr. of Pinehurst, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Richard Edward has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
He was predeceased by: his brother Donald; and his sister-in-law Sue. He is survived by: his wife Vicky; his daughters, Christi (Drue) and Susan (George); his grandchildren, Ellis McLarty, Tori and Katie Vereckey; and his brother David (Vivian). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Community Presbyterian Church (125 Everette Rd, Pinehurst, NC 28370).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Community Presbyterian Church in Pinehurst or Bunnlevel Presbyterian Church in Bunnlevel.
