He was predeceased by: his parents, Pryor Sr. Moon and Gladys Braselton Moon. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Richardson Moon; his children, Susan (Dannie Jackson), Carrie (Todd Zeh) and Steven (Catherine Moon); and his grandchildren, Brent, Myea, Ethan of Morgan, J. P., Luke, Daniel, Anna Kay and Hadley. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Sanctuary Culdee Presbyterian Church (916 NC-73, West End, NC 27376).
