He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Norman Metts and Violet Metts; his children, Diana Lynn Metts and Michael Metts (Leigh Ann); and his brother Harold Metts. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Liberty Hospice 300 W. Pennsylvania Ave. Southern Pines, NC 28387.
