He is survived by: his parents, Joseph Mathews and Lisa Mathews; his siblings, Chelsea (John Garrison), Kayla (Nick Carter), Morgan (Cody DeGarmo) and Ryan (Lauren Ross); his nieces and nephews, Gavin, Autumn DeGarmo, Logan, Emma Garrison, Hartley, Blakely Carter, Maci and Carson Ross; his grandparents, Thomas and Judy Bittle of Seven Lakes; his aunt Nena; and his cousins, Callahan, Michael Craven, Izzabella and Margaret McNeil.
