He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Zieglar and Katherine Zieglar; and his siblings, Shirley Lichtenfels and Ralph Zieglar. He is survived by: his wife Regina; his children, Paula Pratt (Dave) of Pinehurst and Edward Jr. (Lydia) of Ellicott City, MD; his grandchildren, Lena Jeal, Paige, Claire Pratt, Gregory and Michael Zieglar; his siblings, Eugene Zieglar (Bobbi) and Virginia Zieglar (Larry Golder); and his sister-in-law Anna Marie Zieglar of North Huntingdon, PA..
