He is survived by: his children, Susan Helander (John), Stephen Showalter (Maria), John Showalter (Nancy), Paul Showalter (Sharon) and Kim Showalter; his grandchildren, Katharine Lange (Christopher), Alexander Rae, Stephanie Payne (Bill), Sarah Showalter, Lindsey Platts (Jordan) and Caroline Showalter (Anthony); his great grandchildren, David, Charlotte Lange, Landon, Liv Showalter, Lane, Henry Platts, Christian, Wyatt Payne and Paislee Showalter; his girlfriend Sylvia Jansen; his girlfriend's daughter Heidi Spencer (Mark); his nieces, Elizabeth Hubbard, Ann Buscemi (Peter), Nancy Clark (Peter) and Judy Slabyk (Steve); and his nephew Ed Hubbard (Lynn).
