She was predeceased by: her parents, James DeWitt Tapp and Mabel Veasey Tapp; and her husband John D McPhaul. She is survived by: her children, Angus D McPhaul (Allyson) of Spartanburg, SC and Mary Brooks Hoagland (George) of Palmetto, FL.; and her grandchildren, John D McPhaul (Laura Windsor) of Richmond, VA., Justin Hoagland (Nikki) of Winter Haven, FL., Kelly Brooks McPhaul of Richmond, VA. and Ashley Brooks Johnston (Forrest) of New Orleans, LA.. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Community Presbyterian Church, 125 Everette Rd., Pinehurst, NC 28374, or the charity of one's choice.
