He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Anna Mergins and Janis Mergins; his wife Joan Durling; his children, Sandra Mergins O'Donnell (Jim) of Pinehurst and Craig Mergins (Catherine) of Hartford, CT; his grandchildren, Andrew, Kayleigh, Nicholas and Maya; and his brother Girts.
