He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie B. McNeill and Florence McNeill (Caddell); his sons, James McNeill, Jr. and Allen McNeill; and his siblings, Wayne, Raymond McNeill, Brenda Conner and Darlene Sullivan.
He is survived by: his wife Sherry Ann McNeill (Hegland); his sons, Johnny McNeill (Carol) of Liberty, NC and Nicholas McNeill (Laura) of Pinebluff; and his sister Nancy Sada of Wytheville, VA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
