It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Wayne Petty of Pinebluff, North Carolina, who passed away on March 6, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harvey B. Mason and Ollie Smith Mason of Columbus; her former husband John W. McRae (Bill); her siblings, Martha Vaughn, Myrtie Honeycutt, Leona McRae, Frances Cooper and Jack Mason; and her grandson Kyle McRae.
She is survived by: her husband Freeman Petty; her children, Debra Norwood Loggins (Joe) of Thomasville, NC, Teresa McRae Wheeler (Allan) of Lake Lure, NC, Billy McRae of Eagle Springs, NC, Jimmy McRae (Marcie) of Aberdeen, NC, Jerry McRae of Carthage, NC and Nita Stuber (Jimmy) of Wilmington, NC.; her grandchildren, Beth Norwood Leviner, Danny Norwood, John Renner, Catharine Renner Mohar, Heather Harris, Sara McRae Posey, Mason McRae, Abby McRae Howard, Maggie McRae Harris, Eric McRae, Josie Duncan, Ashley Watson Cramer, Robert Watson and Carley Watson Frisby; and her pets, Kitty and Tommy. She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
