She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Glenn and Stella Hill Payne; her grandson Kevin Jones; and her siblings, Bob Payne, Jean Payne Mathis and Nita Payne Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Kent Smith, Mark Smith (Angie) and Phyllis Smith Atkins; her grandchildren, Jennifer Seamans (Brian), Andy Smith (Laura), Ryan Atkins (Brittany), Samantha and Christian Smith; and her great grandchildren, Madaline Jones Colvin (Josh), Peyton, Reece Jones, Elizabeth, Benjamin, Rebecca Kramling, Kennedy, Hudson Atkins, Craeton and Sloane Hooker. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Village Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in King, NC; East Surry Athletic Department; Mountain Valley Hospice, Pilot Mountain.
