We are sad to announce that on December 29, 2019, at the age of 96, Swanson Simmons (Pilot Mountain, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his brothers, Thurman, Hampton, Elmo and J. W. Simmons (Jay); and his stepdaughter-in-law Delaine Brinkley (Dee).
He is survived by: his wife Julia S. Simmons; his children, Johnny Grant Simmons (Judy) and Joy Simmons Tuttle; his grandchildren, Grant Simmons, Valerie S. Bruner (Scott) and Shawn B. Inman (Courtney); his great grandchildren, Kayla B. Simmons, Wes Bruner, Allie Bruner, Mollie Bruner and Everly Joy Inman; his sister-in-law Kay Simmons; his stepdaughter Kimberly Blakley (Brian); his stepson-in-law Jack Brinkley; and his stepgrandchildren, Daniel Brinkley, Noelle Brinkley, Cole Brinkley, Chase Blakley and Grayson Blakley.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
