It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruby Joyce (Pilot Mountain, North Carolina), born in Stokes, North Carolina, who passed away on February 7, 2020, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Ausbon and Maxie Lee Lynch Joyce; her spouse F. H. "Jack" Joyce; her daughter Brenda Joyce Stephens (Johnny); and her siblings, Tommy A. Joyce (Betty Lou), James Aubrey Joyce (Doris), Jack A. Joyce (Dorothy Sue), Elder Junior Joyce (Cora Lee), Nancy "Doodle" Smith (Ray) and Iona "Tip" Cook Mitchell.
She is survived by: her daughter Gladys Joyce Martin (David); her grandchildren, Myrene Martin Reyes (Jesse), Meritza Martin Moorefield (Jerry), Floyd Martin (Patricia), Jeff Stephens (Becky) and Dr. Joel Stephens (Lisa); and her brothers, Frank Joyce (Doris) and Swanson Joyce (Ruby). She is also survived by great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church (164 Sulphur Springs Church Road, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041) or the Brims Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund (3509 NC 268 East, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041), as both were very important to Ruby.
