He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Edgar Simmons and Della Morefield Simmons; his wife Wilma Flippin Simmons; his siblings, Ethel Simmons Riddle, Quincy Simmons and Richard Simmons; his daughter Bobbie Simmons Collins; his son-in-law John Collins of Mt Airy; his grandsons, Dr. John Kerry Collins, Jr. (Cathy) of Winston and Dr. Todd Collins of Cullowhee; his great grandchildren, Anna Collins, Katherine Collins, James Collins, John Collins and Audrey Collins; his nephew Jimmy Simmons; and also, Rebecca Hawks and Lester.
