She was predeceased by: her husband Poin Dexter Hawks Jr.; her parents, David Elbert Jackson and Anna Francis McKinney Jackson; and her siblings, Cecil Jackson, Paul H. Jackson, John Jackson, Charles Allen Jackson, Jewell Cloud, Roberta Cardwell, Jane Hinds and Margaret Peters.
She is survived by: her children, Verpo Lynn Hawks of Coalfield and Marla Corns (Donald) of Pilot Mountain, NC; her grandsons, Jeremy Corns of Pilot Mountain, NC, Zackary Corns of Pilot Mountain, NC and Austin Corns (Brancey Johnson) of Ararat, NC; her siblings, David Jackson (Carol) of Coalfield, W. R. Jackson of Coalfield, Edna Johnson of Oliver Springs, Anna Mac Fritts of Coalfield and Kathleen Fulp of Coalfield; and her sister-in-law Vickie Jackson of Coalfield. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winton-Salem, NC.
