It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jimmy Reid (Pilot Mountain, North Carolina), born in Surry, Virginia, who passed away on December 28, 2019, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Reid and Daisy Reid; his wife Polly Reid; his grandsons, Jacob and Joshua Sawyers; and his brothers-in-law, Wayne Barker of Mt Airy and Frank Payne of Blackwater.
He is survived by: his children, Dallas Sawyers (Annette) of Ararat Virginia, Tonya Reid (John) of Pilot Mountain and Janet Reid of Yadkinville; his grandchildren, Courtney Reid, Sarah Sawyers (Tyler) of King, Makenzie Reid of Boonville, Caroline and Caleb Reid of Pilot Mountain; his great grandchildren, Maverick and Fisher Reid; his sister Thelma Payne; and his parents-in-law, Dianne Barker of Mt Airy, Mary Dean of Mt Airy, Jerry of Mt Airy, Joyce Cassell of Mt Airy and Lou Barker of Mt Airy. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews.
