It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Janice Short Epperson (Pilot Mountain, North Carolina), born in Surry, Virginia, who passed away on August 12, 2023, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Coy Ulysses and Mildred Caudle Short; her husband Steve Epperson of Pilot Mountain; her children, Blake Sawyers (Sarah) and Kelsey Lamont (Bren) of Durham; her granddaughters, Virginia Gray and Ann Jansen Sawyers; her siblings, Dianne Hunter of Hilton Head, SC, James Coy Short (Linda) of King, Marilyn Cook (Jerry) of Wilmington, Craig and Tara Epperson of Bristol, TN; and her nephews, Neal Gower (Grete) of Hilton Head, SC and Nathan Henderson (Jacey) of Wilmington. She was also cherished by her parents, siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles.
