He was predeceased by: his wife Alice Virginia Moorefield Mathies; and his mother Eveline Beck Mathis Mathies. He is survived by: his sons, Bobby Lee Mathies (Shannen) and Tony Lee Randall Mathis; his stepchildren, Christopher Edwards (Lucy) and Melissa Gonzalez (George); his brother Bobby Bowman (Irene); his grandchildren, Ryan Mathies, Addison Mathies, Skyler Cole Mathies Wallace, Chelsea Wilson (Bryce), Brittany Mills, Kimberly Bowman, Arwyn Edwards, James Edwards and Sarah Bowman; and his great grandchildren, Casen Jack, Cohen Luke Wilson, Cyris Wayne, Aksel Blaze Knott and Serenity Grace Mills.
