She was predeceased by: her parents, Gurney Spence and Pimenta Simms Spence; her husband Lymon Darden Sr.; her sons, Lymon Darden Jr., Jimmy Darden and Marvin Darden; and her sister Ada McLean.
She is survived by: her children, Gurney Darden of Goldsboro, John Darden (Doris) of Goldsboro, Michael Darden (Yolanda) of Goldsboro, Emma Kinsey of Goldsboro, Annie Coley (Marvin) of Goldsboro, Mary Franklin of New Jersey and Belinda Cherry (Tony) of Goldsboro; and her daughters-in-law, Doris Darden of Maryland and Celane Darden of Maryland. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
