She was predeceased by: her parents, Maurice Sears and Florice Reid Sears; and her husband Carl Croom. She is survived by: her son Westley Sears; her grandchildren, Mayliyah Sears and Layla Sears; and her nephew Rudy Croom (Cameron Wade).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Blended Fellowship, P.O. Box 448 Pikeville, NC 27863 in memory of Irene.
