He is survived by: his mother Emily Viola Smith Lucas of Pikeville; his wife Margaret Morgan Lucas; his sons, Lenny Hendrix of Statesville and D. J. Hendrix of Gastonia; his nephew Travis Morgan; his grandchildren, Whitney Jordan (Jonathan), Todd Hendrix (Samantha), Jade Hendrix, Spenser Hendrix and Ada Hendrix; his siblings, Arlene Lucas Pierce (David), Leigh Lucas Harper (Joseph), Lindsey Lucas Jr. (Beverly), Stanley Lucas (Gail), Bill Lucas (Sharon) and Rev. Hoyt Lucas (Cindy); and his close friend Frank Cassada.
