She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Mary Starling Gurley and Cooper Alton Gurley; and her siblings, Ralph Gurley and Hilda Benson. She is survived by: her husband Bobby Dail; her daughters, Wendy Lockwood (Bryan) of Raleigh and Michelle Best (Brian) of Pikeville; her siblings, Robert Gurley (Barbara) of Grifton, NC, Jackie McKeel of Tabb, VA, Grace Best (Henry) of Goldsboro and Vickie Horne (Carl) of Benson; her grandchildren, Riley Lockwood, Camryn Lockwood, Brayden Best and Ethan Best; her sister-in-law Jean Gurley; and her stepdaughters, Elizabeth Brown (Wayne) of Goldsboro, Laura Manley (Troy) of Chester, VA and Page Kennedy (Mike) of Chester, VA.
Gale Gurley Dail, 71, died Friday at Eagle's Pointe after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
