It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Byrd Peele (Pikeville, North Carolina), born in Wayne County, North Carolina, who passed away on November 2, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Willis Peele and Aunita Lancaster Peele; his wife Hilda Gray Lancaster Peele; and his siblings, George Peele, Josephine Prebula and Marjorie Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Grey Peele (Valerie) and Gregg Peele (Sandra); his grandchildren, Karen Peele (Guile Contreras), Jennifer Peele, Charles Peele and Robert Peele; his great grandchild Madelyn Capps; and his brother David L. "Skeeter" Peele (Doris). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends he loved.
