He is survived by: his wife Peggy Hinnant Phillips; his sons, Viking Phillips (Kim) of Holly Ridge, Jeffery Phillips (Angie) of Pikeville, Spencer Phillips (Judy) of Pikeville, Kevin Phillips (Sheri) of Goldsboro and Jonathan Phillips of Pikeville; his grandchildren, Bonnie, Jeffrey, Josh, Kristina, Kasey, Zipporah, Levi and Silas; and his siblings, Bobby Ray Phillips (Jimmy Earl Phillips), Patricia Ann Hinnant of Princeton, Barbara Faye Strickland of Princeton and Becky Marie Heath of Princeton. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
He also requested no flowers or memorials.
