He was predeceased by: his siblings, Marie Humphries and Grover Brewer. He is survived by: his wife Ernestine F. Brewer; his children, Lisa B. Hodges (Phil) of Bear Grass and Bennett L. Brewer (Cristy) of Pikeville; his grandchildren, Brian Hodges, Caroline Hodges, Rachel Hodges and Zackery Brewer; and his siblings, Carolyn Sumner, Fulton Brewer and Jimmy Brewer. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
