She was predeceased by: her parents, William Rufus and Hattie Hudson Griffin; her son Steven Sonbert (Julie Sonbert); and her siblings, Wallace Griffin and Betty Griffin Talley.

She is survived by: her sons, Michael Sonbert (Karen) and Timothy Sonbert (Kim); her grandchildren, Dr. Nicole Sonbert, Tracy Rene'Snow, Jessica Sonbert, Stephanie Fisher (Brent), Brooke Sonbert, Ciearra Sonbert, Avery Sonbert, Arden Sonbert and Sheriden Sonbert; her great grandchildren, Kobe Sonbert (Victoria), Haley Snow, Noah Snow, Mason Fisher and Elliott Sonbert; her siblings, Kenneth Griffin (Shirley), Cleo Willard-Weems, Linda Bennett, Carolyn Sue (Wade) and Reverend Donald Griffin; and her brothers-in-law, Theodore Brindisi (Barbara) and Peter Sonbert. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
