He was predeceased by: his parents, Ronda Hampton and Mary Bell Ford Hampton; his mother-in-law Robbie Norris Critcher; and his brother-in-law Donald Critcher. He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Critcher Hampton; his stepson Dale Clontz of Gamewell; his brothers, Royce Hampton of Lenoir and Gordon Hampton (Elaine) of Gamewell; his niece Amy Hampton Burns (Mark); his great-niece Addie of Lenoir; his niece Missy Hampton Hogan (Jon); his niece Mandy Hampton Canseler (Michael); his great-nieces, Destiny and Angelina Roy of Hickory; his aunt Ila Ford of Lexington; his father-in-law Tommy Critcher of Boone; his siblings-in-law, Thomas Critcher (Dina) of Boone and Calista Rutherford (Patrick) of Thomasville; and also Sully of Lenoir. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
