She was predeceased by: her parents, Lucius C. Witherspoon and Virginia Ruth Sturgill Witherspoon; and her siblings, Bobby Witherspoon and Willa Davis. She is survived by: her husband David Wayne Burkette; her daughters, Dr. Allison Burkette (Andrew Beam) of Lexington and Amanda Grimstead (Jamie) of Winston-Salem; her sisters, Dorothy W. Wilcox (Edgar) of Wilkesboro, NC and Shirley Liddle of Jefferson, NC; and her grandchildren, Anne Tschumper, Emma Grimstead, Ben Grimstead, Katherine Tschumper and Noah Burkette.
