He was predeceased by: his father Austin Francis Hege; his wife Bonnie Sue Hancock Hege; and his grandson Richard Jones III. He is survived by: his children, Tammy Drawbaugh (Rob), Kimberly Long (Del) and Michael Glenn Hege (Nicole); his grandchildren, Brittany Whitaker (Adam), Bailey Wall, Abigail Wall, Brooke Hege and Taylor Hege; and his great grandchildren, Emily, Haylee and Charlotte.
