He is survived by: his wife Joyce Kaufman Long; his children, Rick Long (Lori Shore) and Kim (Jeff Mendenhall); his stepdaughter Carol (Tommy Sprinkle); his brother Fred (Linda Long); his sister-in-law Lynne; his sister Fontana; his granddaughters, Amanda Padgett (Josh), Heather Cornine and Hope Mendenhall; and his great grandchildren, Emma, Abby, Joel, Adam and Katie.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trellis Hospice Care of Winston-Salem.
