He is survived by: his wife Mary Todd Buckner; his children, Donald Thomas Jr. of Lake Junaluska and Janice Buckner Day of Morganton; his stepdaughter Cynthia Elliott of Seneca, SC; and his siblings, Willard Buckner, Jr. (Evelyn), Charles Buckner (Alice), Kenneth Buckner and Averill Atkins (Dick). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
