He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Burden Daye, Sr. and Bertha Deloatch Daye; and his siblings, Thomas, Lonnie, Mahlon, Bahlon, Lee Burden Jr., Jeanette Dickerson, Mable Daye, Missie Brewer and Bettie Lou Jordan.
He is survived by: his sons, Wilbur Darryl Daye of Nashville and Patrick Daye of Suffolk, Virginia.; and his siblings, Gracie Daye Bynum of Pendleton and Alvin Daye of Virginia Beach, Virginia.. He is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
