It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William J. Oxendine of Pembroke, North Carolina, who passed away on September 27, 2024, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hue Oxendine and Viola Oxendine Gandy; his siblings, John Hue Oxendine Jr., George Noel Oxendine, Winnie Pearl Brown, Pauline McNeill, Eugene Oxendine, Elsie Mae Pounds, Henry Robert Oxendine and Shelby Jane Lowery; his stepmother Alice Jay Oxendine; and his stepbrothers, Jimmy Dean Locklear and Steve Locklear.
He is survived by: his children, Tracy Oxendine Coley and William Eddie Oxendine; his grandchildren, Crystal Locklear (Robert Locklear), Kaelianna Oxendine and Liam Oxendine; his siblings, Larry Oxendine, Gary Oxendine, Anita Hulin, Gene Truman Chavis (Martha Faye Chavis), Peggy Locklear, John Bradly Oxendine, Brenda Bullard and Joyce Horne (Keith Horne); his stepbrother Bobby Dean Locklear; and also Jimmy Coley. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
