She was predeceased by: her parents, Will Wearnes and Bertia Wearnes; her husband Robert Lee Chavis Jr.; her grandson Kendrick Jerome Locklear; and her siblings, Roscoe Wearnes, Johnny Wearnes, George Smith, Harvey Lee Wearnes, James Ray Wearnes and Lucille Jones.
She is survived by: her children, William Jacobs, Robert Bronson Chavis (Caroline), April Dial (Timothy), Victoria Locklear (Michael), Dorothy Chavis (Roger) and Roberta Chavis. She is also survived by three brothers; five sisters; sixteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
