He is survived by: his wife Emma Mabel Cummings; his daughter Cynthia Lynn Sanderson of Pembroke; his grandson Michael Ward Sanderson of Sanford; and his siblings, Carlton Cummings Jr., Nina Ruth Cummings, Ella Mae Hammonds, Sarah Ann Locklear, Mary Ann Locklear and Betty Lou Maynor. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
