He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Seavie Lowry Sr. and Nettie Brooks Lowry; his grandparents, William Lowry, Crossie Maynor Lowry, Peter Brooks and Addie Cummings Brooks; and his sisters, Laura Faye Locklear (Harold) and Una Gale Lowry.
He is survived by: his wife Cattie Harris Lowry; his children, Aaron Locklear of Charleston, SC and Ashley Locklear Chavis (Travis) of Raynham, NC.; his siblings, Attie L. Locklear, Richard S. Lowry (Vickie) of Pembroke, NC. and William "Thornton" Lowry (Fannie) of Pembroke, NC.; his sister-in-law Cassie C. Lowry; and his brother Howard Brooks (Brenda).
