He was predeceased by: his mother Ethel Locklear Smith; his son Anthony "Amp" Smith; his father Calvin Coolidge Smith; his brother Jeffery Smith; and his grandsons, Dalton and Dacota Harris.
He is survived by: his children, Perry Smith (Sonya) of Rowland, NC, Melissa Harris (Blake) of Gibson, NC and Lanette Hunt (Marty) of Rowland; his grandchildren, Whitney Smith, Corey Hunt, Makaylia Hunt, Kyra Smith, Brynleigh Harris, Brayden Smith and Bladen Harris; his great grandchild Gabriel Hunt; and his siblings, Terry Smith, Bobby Smith (Carolyn) and Margaret Jones (Jerry). He is also survived by nieces and nephews and relatives.
