He was predeceased by: his parents, James Furman Scott and Girlene Clewis Scott; and his brother Thomas Scott (Mary). He is survived by: his children, Terri Ransom (Kent) and James Clifton Scott (Linda); his grandchildren, Megan Devin Moneyhun, Cynthia Glassman, Tiffany Stevens (Keith), Michael Christopher Scott (Thalia) and Matthew Scott; his great grandchildren, Anthony Glassman, Brayden Stevens, Ocean Howard Glassman, Kiara "Kiki" Stevens, Sampson Munroe Marion and Augusta Jude Marion; his niece Linda Lowry (Harvey); and his nephew Larry Scott.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Raynham Baptist Church (5660 US-301, Raynham, NC 28383).
