He was predeceased by: his wife Agnes L. Moore; his son Mitchell Pate Moore; his mother Nora S. Moore; and his siblings, Andrew Locklear, Harbert Moore, Earl Moore, Mary F. Baker, Elkhart of Indiana, Cleo Locklear, Jane Sampson of Maxton, NC and Sara Hunt of Lumberton, NC..
He is survived by: his siblings, Emma Mable Cummings (Newton) of Maxton, NC, Clement R. Moore (Christine) of Maxton, NC and Claude Moore (Eveyln) of Danville, Virginia.; and his daughters, Wendy Moore of Maxton, NC, Kimberly M. Locklear (Wade) of Starks, LA and Carla Mercer of Maxton, NC.. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren.
In 1974, he was awarded NC's highest honor bestowed upon a civilian, the Order of the Long Leaf Pine by Governor James Holshouser for his significant contributions to state and communities through his exemplary service and exceptional accomplishments.
