He is survived by: his close friend Renee Locklear; his children, Alvin John "Britton" Mercer (Alicia), Trey, Tabitha and Amber; his sister Angela Mercer Revels; his aunts, Vivian Atha and Betty Rose Brooks; his uncle Larry Trent Brooks; his grandchildren, Brylon, Brandon, Brixton, Brayden, Isaiah, Wa'Keyian, Ja'Kayli and Kylie; his nieces and nephews, Akwiasdi, Kawoni, Wohali and Adawi; his great-nephew Kanen; and his close friend Dr. Joe Roberts.
