He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivy Coles and Henrietta Jeffries Coles; and his sister Donna Williamson. He is survived by: his spouse Tina Coles; his sons, Michael Stephen Coles (Sondria) and Travis Eziekiel Coles of Los Angeles, CA; and his siblings, Willa Jones (Mark) of Pelham, NC, Mona Hall of Yanceyville, NC, Diane Dixon of Maryland, Jeffrey Coles of Greensboro, NC, Robert Coles of Danville, VA and Webster Coles of Danville, VA. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
