She was predeceased by: her parents, James Walter Simpson and Sarah Hatchett Simpson Scales; her siblings, James Walter Simpson Jr., Theodis Wilson Simpson, George Henry Simpson and Alice Levern Payne; and her stepsiblings, Percy Scales, Willie Lee Scales, Carolyn Cummings and Bernice Lindsay.
She is survived by: her children, Kyra Simpson of Clinton, MD, Clifton Simpson of Pelham, NC. and Caleah Simpson of Pelham, NC.; her grandchildren, Trinity Simmons and Kandi Michell Green; and her siblings, Sharon S. Graves of Pelham, NC, Ella S. Mullins of Greensboro, NC and John "Johnny" Simpson (Mary) of Pelham, NC. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
